Title Services
We provide a range of real estate title services, in addition to the relatively simple real estate settlement or closing when people buy a home with clear title. We have the experience you need to handle even the most complicated real estate transaction. Combined, our staff has more than 150 years of experience in the title industry.
Real Estate Title Company
Front Door Title is owned and operated by the mother daughter team of Betty Wilson and Jocelyn Curtis, serving individuals and businesses throughout Maryland. We also work closely with real estate agents and lenders to ensure a smooth real estate settlement process.
Some of our other services include:
New Construction
We work with builders and real estate developers through every facet of real estate settlements as they apply to the new construction process. We’ll help keep you on track.
Home Auctions
Home auctions are a different animal when it comes to title services. If you hire us to do a title search before the auction, we can tell you if there’s a clear title. If you buy property without a title search, we can help you after the fact, too.
Foreclosure Settlement
We conduct foreclosure settlement as part of our title services. Our foreclosure title services benefit lenders, loan servicers, legal counsel and the buyer with executing a valid foreclosure.
Short Sales
Short sales are when a seller who owes more on their mortgage than their home is worth, gets their lender to agree to let them sell the home for a price that is less than the amount still owed on the mortgage. We have experience with the various ins and outs of the short sale process, and can help guide you through it.
1031 Exchange
Named after a part of the federal tax code, a 1031 exchange allows for the exchange of “like kind” real estate. This is an exchange involving commercial or business property and not your personal home. The exchange can be done so that you don’t owe any taxes at the end of the transaction.
Forming an LLC
We can help you with forming an LLC for a real estate transfer. A real estate LLC can protect you as an individual by putting the rental or commercial property in the name of the LLC.
